Neues aus der spanischen Liga

Hi everyone,

just a short note for now. We lost last weekend by 15 to the first place team in the league. We were only down 4 at half but their 2 centers put on a shooting performance that we couldn't stop nor match. The week before that we also lost by 14. Again we were close at half time, trading the lead once in a while but their 2 centers put on a similar shooting exhibition that was tough to match. We're in Vigo today for another tough road game. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I hope you're all doing well!
Adam

Hi all,

I've got better news for you this time around :) But let me clear something up that I didn't realize might be/is an issue. For those of you who don't hang on my every word and email, I'm playing for a Spanish club team in Valladolid, Spain this year. My team competes in the Spanish 1st division as well as in the inter-European championship tournaments coming up in the late spring. So, if I refer to an opponent only by city name, you can take it that I'm reporting on a regular league game. Otherwise, I'll make special mention of the tournament or game so there's no confusion. It didn't even occur to me to make a point of mentioning these details, just take it for granted that not everyone knows what I'm on about all the time ;)

So, on to the game. We played against Vigo on Saturday evening on their home court. We beat them on our home court in the first half of the season and we were ready for them to come out of the gates swinging. We decided to be proactive and knock them down before they had a chance to throw the first punch. Seemed to work well too since we had an 11 point lead after the first quarter. We were up 12 points at half time and then decided to relax going into the 3rd quarter. This turned out to be a bad decision because we were only up 8 points at the end of the 3rd. We had a huge 4th quarter to counter our weak 3rd and ended up winning by 18 points. I ended the game with 33 points making 58% of my shots. We went to the game short 2 guys (one sick, the other stayed because his Mom had an operation earlier in the week) so basically any foul trouble would have made things very difficult for us. Luckily we didn't let that become an issue and we went home with a well deserved win.

That's all from me for now, we didn't get back to Valladolid until late last night/early this morning.
I hope this email found you well!
Adam
